Key staff at Finaccord with whom you can get in contact are as follows: Alan Leach, MA (Cantab), MSc (London Business School), Director: Alan has responsibility for developing relationships with clients from the financial and other sectors at an international level. With a background in strategic research and consulting, Alan has extensive pan-European and global experience in areas that include affinity and partnership marketing, automotive financial services, bancassurance, customer behaviour, extended warranties and insurance for consumer products, retailer financial services, and travel insurance and assistance. Moreover, projects in which he has been involved include benchmarking card-related loyalty schemes for a major international payment card company, evaluating opportunities in creditor insurance in China, India, South Korea and Taiwan, and analysing automotive finance competitors and products across multiple European countries. Formerly, Director of Financial Services Consulting at Datamonitor, Alan is a fluent speaker of English, French, Italian and Spanish and can be contacted on aleach@finaccord.com. Bernd Bergmann, BA (Kent), MA (Newcastle), MPhil (London), Consultant: Bernd is responsible for coordinating research on consumer financial services in Germany and also contributes to the pan-European and international projects carried out by Finaccord. Since joining Finaccord, he has developed ground-breaking new research about affinity and partnership schemes in financial services in Germany. Furthermore, he has also designed and supervised research into the behaviour of German consumers in the context of a large variety of financial products ranging from legal expenses insurance to mortgages and from breakdown recovery insurance to private pension insurance. In previous years, Bernd has worked as a researcher and financial journalist in Rome and Frankfurt. He has written, among others, for Bloomberg, Merger Market and l’Occidentale. David Parry, MA (Cantab), PhD (Cantab), Consultant: David held a research fellowship in modern French history at Hertford College, Oxford before he began his career in business intelligence for financial services, and he is the co-author (with Pierre Girard) of France since 1800 (Oxford University Press). He has over ten years’ experience in financial services market analysis, and has been involved in a wide range of projects concerning retail banking and both life, and non-life insurance in Europe, including market sizing and forecasting, competitor intelligence, brand analysis and the use of IT in financial services. David joined Finaccord from eBenchmarkers, where he developed and managed its benchmark on the performance of eCommerce for IFAs, for the UK’s leading life and pensions companies. At Finaccord, he has worked on pan-European reports about online aggregation of banking and insurance products, commercial non-life insurance brokers and travel insurance and assistance.
